With 40 data centres in the UK, C4L helps its clients remotely store and back up their data and connect faster to the internet through high-capacity leased lines. Its clients are based across Europe and include companies of all sizes, as well as government agencies. The Poole firm also develops its own software. This year it launched a “virtualisation platform”, software that can manage a virtual server in a remote data centre. Founded in 2000 by managing director Mathew Hawkins, the company has grown sales 56% a year from £1.6m in 2007 to £6m in 2010.
