Liverpool’s Chargepoint manufactures containment valves used by chemical and pharmaceutical firms to manage the sterile transfer of controlled substances. An expanding customer base, as well as growing sales of spares and consumables, helped profits rise to £3.4m last year. In January, chief executive Chris Eccles, 38, led a buyout backed by the private equity firm LDC, for an undisclosed sum. The deal will help the group expand overseas, with a particular focus on North America.
