Founded in 1849, Crittall says it is the world’s oldest continuous manufacturer of steel windows and its designs are found in the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London, and were used on the Titanic. Exports topped an annualised £4.6m in 2016, after the company supplied more than 4,000 windows and doors to an Ivy League university and replaced many of those in the Eldorado building, a luxury apartment block in Manhattan. Stuart Judge, 46, is managing director of the Essex firm.
