Founded in 1881, this Manchester business is the oldest family-owned jam maker in England. It manufactures traditional products such as Seville marmalade, along with more unusual items, including smooth tangerine conserve and peanut butter for dogs. Duerr’s exports to 50 countries, with Australia, Germany and Poland its largest overseas markets. Managing director Mark Duerr, 53, oversaw international sales of £6.3m in 2016.
