The growing popularity of angling helped this fishing tackle firm achieve profits of £5.2m in 2015. The Essex business was founded by Clifford Fox in 1964 and sells 3,000 products through retailers in 30 European countries. Mayfair Equity Partners bought a majority stake in 2015, valuing the group at £50m. In June last year, chief executive David Algar, 55, led the acquisition of Polish company Salmo.
