Last year 76m passengers passed through Heathrow, the UK’s largest port by value of goods. Public consultation has begun on plans for a third runway — it is estimated it will contribute up to £211bn in economic growth and 180,000 new jobs. Heathrow is owned by a consortium of investors, which in March announced a further £650m investment in the airport over the course of 2019. Its chief executive is John Holland-Kaye, 52.
