Employee-owned John Lewis Partnership has two divisions: John Lewis, led by managing director Paula Nickolds, 45; and Waitrose, run by managing director Rob Collins, 48. Tough trading conditions meant that the annual bonus for each of the 84,500 employees at the firm’s 50 John Lewis shops and 353 Waitrose branches was cut to 5% of salary — the lowest level since 1954. And, in June, the firm said that next year’s profits would fall further. The London-headquartered retailer is led by Sir Charlie Mayfield, 51.
