With a keen interest in perfecting form and function, twin brothers Richard and Antony Joseph started their design firm with a single product in 2003. Now they sell colourful kitchenware in 73 countries, with customers including department stores such as John Lewis in Britain, Bloomingdale’s in America and KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) in Germany. The London firm has showcased its products on television in the Big Brother house, and benefited from the “stay at home” culture encouraged by cookery programmes and the recession. Profits grew 106% a year, from £788,000 in 2008 to £6.9m in 2011.
