Set up in 1972 as a mail-order firm, this Rotherham retailer sells more than 15,000 electrical products, online and in store, from external hard drives to remote-control drones. Led by chief executive Oliver Meakin, 41, the group now has 218 stores across Britain and Ireland, and operations in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. Private equity firm Rutland Partners paid £85m to acquire the group in 2014.
