This spin-off from the McLaren Formula One racing team makes just seven luxury sports cars a day at its Woking base. They include the McLaren P1 hybrid supercar, which sold for £866,000 in the UK and had a production run of 375 vehicles. The company opened its first dealership in 2011 but now has more than 70 showrooms around the world. Under chief executive Mike Flewitt, 53, demand from Asia — where it opened seven new sites in 2014 — helped sales to rise 67% to £475.5m. In the same year it invested £91.8m in R&D. Ron Dennis, 68, is non-executive chairman.
