Chester’s Meadow Foods buys 10m litres of milk and cream a week for processing into the dairy products used by its customers to make chocolate, ice cream, sweets, cakes, yoghurts and even baby milk. Meadow Foods was set up by Simon Chantler in 1992 and now sells to food companies in Britain, Europe and America from manufacturing sites in Chester and Yorkshire. In 2006 it had sales of £205.7m.
