This Scottish company makes equipment for manufacturers of silicon chips. It grew sales 94% a year, from an annualised £1.2m in 2007 to £8.8m in 2010, as it moved into microchips that are able to respond to movement and are used in computer games consoles and smartphones. Executive chairman Peter Connock, who specialises in helping young companies with their marketing strategy, joined Memsstar shortly before it secured £2m of funding from Albion Ventures in 2007.
