This Essex business manufactures life-critical air technology for the medical, defence and industrial sectors. Profits topped £2m last year due to increased demand for products ranging from gas masks to lightweight oxygen generators for use in conflict and emergency zones. Started in 1973, the business has a second manufacturing site in Colorado and distribution offices in China, Australia and India. US private equity house Arlington Capital Partners paid an undisclosed sum for the business in December, prompting the exit of previous investors BGF and family owners, Ian and Andrew McKernan. Previous head of US operations Troy Rhudy, 47, is the new group chief executive.
