This Doncaster firm was started by Oscar Weaver in 1919 as a construction contractor. Now chaired by his grandson Irving Weaver, 68, the company has housing developments across Yorkshire and the Midlands, selling homes for an average of £174,000. It made a profit of £10m on sales of £98.9m in 2015, when it sold 569 homes, more than double the number sold in 2012. Its growth is partly attributable to the introduction of the Help to Buy scheme in 2013.
