This London company started out as a registrar for internet domain names. It claims to have been the first in the UK to provide an automated registration service, as opposed to the old paper-based procedure. Since then, it has branched out into website hosting, e-commerce infrastructure, and “virtual PC” technology. In April this year, LDC acquired 95% of the company in a £47m management buyout, bringing in former Cable & Wireless executive Phil Male as executive chairman. A stream of new products has kept sales strong, with growth of 63% a year from £5.4m in 2007 to £23.3m in 2010.
