Yorkshire Water is the largest of the businesses owned by Kelda Group, accounting for about 90% of its revenue. It supplies water to more than 5m customers in Yorkshire and half of Northern Ireland’s drinking water. Last year it spent £318m on capital projects, including flood defences and upgrades to waste-water treatment plants, as part of a five-year, £3.8bn investment plan. Owned by a consortium of infrastructure funds, Kelda Group is led by chief executive Richard Flint, 49.
