This award-winning architectural practice was set up in 1979 by Dame Zaha Hadid, who died this year. It generates 99% of its revenue from overseas clients attracted to its sinuous organic style, seen in buildings such as the London Olympics aquatics centre. It has live projects in 44 countries, including a fifth tower for the City of Dreams hotel and casino in Macau, and the King Abdullah metro station in Saudi Arabia. International sales reached £49.2m last year.
