The International Track 100 award for the fastest-growing company was presented by Noel Quinn of HSBC, group general manager and head of commercial banking, UK, to chairman Roy MacGregor of Global Energy Group. The Aberdeen-based company provides contract services to the oil and gas industry, as well as the power, petrochemical and renewable sectors. It operates in Norway, Houston, Trinidad and Africa and is expanding into the Middle East and India. Overseas sales have rocketed 416% a year from £1m in 2007 to £27.8m in 2009, fuelled by both organic growth and acquisitions.
