Best brand award

The Profit Track 100 award for best brand, sponsored by The Sunday Times, was presented by business editor Dominic O'Connell to David Suddens, chief executive of Dr Martens. The iconic boot maker that has re-built its brand since a difficult period in the early 2000s, and now has 16 stores in the UK, US and Asia. Profits increased by 107% a year, from £2.1m in 2008 to £18.8m in 2011.
