Cath Kidston designs and sells a range of distinctive fashion and household accessories, from polka-dot shopping bags to floral-patterned wallpaper, furniture and clothing. Founded by Cath Kidston in London’s Holland Park in 1993, and now led by newly appointed chief executive Kenny Wilson, the firm has at present 44 shops and concessions in Britain, two shops in Ireland, 19 in Japan and six in South Korea. TA Associates backed a majority buyout in March last year that valued the business at £100m. Sales grew 52% a year, from £19.2m in 2008 to an annualised £67.3m in 2011.
