If you want to put a cool £500,000 on the outcome of the FA Cup Final or £20,000 a point on the movement of the FTSE 100 index, spread-betting company Spreadex will take your bet. Accommodating big spenders has brought in higher revenue for the Bedfordshire company, boosting profits 76% a year from £1.2m in 2003 to £6.4m in 2006. Founder and managing director Jonathan Hufford, a former City trader, recently launched a website for sports wagers, and he plans to move into online financial gambling this year.
