NET-A-PORTER.COM sells the latest women’s designer fashion from its magazine-style website. For the more price-sensitive customer, the London company launched Theoutnet.com, a website offering discount designer brands from previous seasons. Its founder and chairwoman, Natalie Massenet, has overseen profit growth of 89% a year from £1.4m in 2006 to £9.3m in 2009. Earlier this month Swiss luxury-goods maker Richemont agreed to acquire the company in a deal valuing Net-a-Porter at about £350m.
