In 2004, Montagu Private Equity backed a £146m buyout of Survitec from Air-Sea Survival Equipment. Warburg Pincus, the American private equity house, backed a secondary buyout in January 2010 for £280m. The company’s profits grew 44% a year from £5.8m in 2006 to £17.3m in 2009.
