Claims that many of the world’s big financial institutions use its software
A failure in a bank’s software could cost it millions in exchange-rate exposure or lost income. Geneos, the proprietary software of ITRS, is designed to pick up early-warning signs before a hitch becomes a catastrophe. It also provides a “black-box” recording system so that lessons can be learnt. Stephen Bates and Misha Kipnis founded the company in 1997 using personal funds, after careers in financial services and software. Sales have grown 39% a year from £3m in 2005 to £8.1m in 2008.
