2007 Top Track 250

Rank: 131   Loyalty Management Group

Shareholders: Sir Keith Mills (50%), Warburg Pincus, management and staff

Like bees making honey, more than half of British households collect Nectar points in shops and supermarkets, and even when they pay their utility bills, it’s making life sweet for Loyalty Management Group. This London business created the loyalty-card scheme that rewards customers of retailers such as J Sainsbury, BP and Debenhams. Affiliates today include Ford, Hertz, Talk Talk and Gala. The firm also owns the rights to the Air Miles brand. Under founder and chairman Sir Keith Mills, who pioneered the Air Miles scheme in the 1980s and more recently led the London Olympics bid, sales topped £211.3m in 2006.
