Chief technology officer Bruno Nicoletti and chief scientist Simon Robinson founded the London company in 1996 and have overseen profit growth of 83% a year, from £1.5m in 2009 to £5.2m in 2011. Carlyle Group acquired a majority shareholding for an undisclosed sum in March 2011.
