Developing clean energy engines for use in two and four-wheeled vehicles

Growing demand for ‘green’ vehicles has helped drive sales growth at this Loughborough business, which develops clean energy technology for cars and consumer goods. In February, it announced a partnership with Suzuki to develop engines powered by hydrogen fuel cells for mass production, and has also partnered with Scottish & Southern and Boeing. Under chief executive Dr. Henri Winand, sales grew 57% a year from £3m in 2008 to £11.9m in 2011. The company raised £22m from investors including Artemis Global Energy in its latest funding round in February 2012.
