Plans to open first office abroad in Australia in 2013
Emergency service response team rely on data, video and voice solutions provided by Cardiff-based Excelerate Technology via wireless communication platforms including satellite broadband. Founded in 2001 by chief executive David Savage and sales director Martin Saunders, the company has grown substantially by winning large contracts with the likes of the Department of Health, and is now expanding into Australia. In 2005, the Welsh Assembly's VC arm bought a 22% stake in the company. Sales grew 55% a year, from £1.7m in 2008 to £6.2m in 2011.
