Livebookings provides online reservation services and marketing tools for 9,000 restaurants in 23 countries. Diners can book a table through Livebookings-owned site Bookatable.com, the restaurant's own website, or partner network websites. Bookings can also be made on smartphone or via an automated phone service, and Livebookings takes commission for each diner. The firm is backed by Balderton Capital and Wellington Partners, and led by chief executive Colin Tenwick. Sales have grown as more restaurants embrace online booking and as more people book by smartphone. Sales grew 55% a year, from £2m in 2008 to £7.8m in 2011.
