Bracknell consultancy Portal was founded in 2006 from the merger of website developer Netinfo and messaging specialist Altis. The merged company bought fellow IT firms Time Solutions and Elyzium in its first year, and is led by Shamus Kelly, founder of Netinfo and the only founding partner still involved in day-to-day running. Portal offers IT consultancy services, as well as reselling IBM products. Sales grew 39% a year, from £7.8m in 2009 to £21.1m in 2012, as the company has become more efficient.
