When John Giblin and Steve Cardwell saw telecoms companies cutting their numbers of field engineers, they stepped in to fill the gap. Belcom247 installs and maintains data centre facilities and telecoms networks for 70 customers, which are mainly in the telecoms sector. Sales have grown as more businesses embrace cloud computing services, which require data centres, and as Belcom247 expands internationally: it has offices in Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Sales grew 46% a year, from £1.7m in 2008 to £5.2m in 2011.
