Produces the software to manage the switch-over to 4G broadband

Three computer science graduates - David Ferry, David Long and David Page - founded this firm in New Zealand in 2000, before it moved to Britain in 2007. Cambridge-headquartered OpenCloud produces software to manage calls and internet data that travel through telephone networks, and customers include T-Mobile, Vodafone, BT and Orange. Competition between operators to offer more data helped sales increase 72% a year, from £1.3m in 2008 to £6.7m in 2011. In September 2010, Nokia Siemens Networks invested £4m, with Advent Venture Partners and No 8 Ventures investing £1m.
