This Northampton company supplies electricity and gas to 150,000 British businesses, including well-known names such as Pizza Hut, Lloyds Pharmacy and Stagecoach. In 2006, International Power (now GDF Suez) became Opusís largest shareholder and signed a long-term supply deal that gives Opus access to the wholesale electricity markets. Under managing director and co-founder Charlie Crossley Cooke, 45, sales climbed 35% in 2013, the third consecutive year of growth over 30%.
