2013 Fast Track 100 Ones to Watch

WoolOvers

Has evolved from a market trader to an online retailer, selling to countries as far afield as Canada, Russia and New Zealand.

WoolOvers has gone from being a market trader selling chunky cable-knit sweaters at horse shows to an online retailer selling 140 different styles of jumpers, sweaters and cardigans in a plethora of colours. Its seven websites cover markets as far afield as New Zealand, Russia, Canada and France, and 40% of its 15.2m sales is now generated abroad. Husband-and-wife team Mark, 50, and Clare Shenton, 44, set up the West Sussex business in 1989, and initially sold their products at fairs and horse trials before launching a catalogue and website.
