Fast Track 100 conference and awards event
This is an invitation-only event for those
companies listed on the latest Fast Track 100 league table.
The 2008 event marked the 11th anniversary of the Fast Track 100 league table and was held at Sir Richard Branson's
family home in Oxfordshire on 14 May.
The conference was opened by David Cameron MP, the leader of The Conservatives, who congratulated the assembled entrepreneurs on their success. He was followed by Richard Reed, co-founder of innocent, and then renewable energy campaigner Jeremy Leggett, chairman of Solarcentury. The afternoon concluded with a Virgin Q&A panel session led by Sir Richard Branson. (see press release).
The awards dinner in the evening honoured
companies on the latest league table, who each received a personalised
certificate. Sponsors also presented six special awards for excellence,
ranging from a best green credentials award sponsored by Virgin Atlantic,
to an international award sponsored by HSBC (see press release).
After dinner, guests were treated to a glimpse of the world of space travel by Will Whitehorn, president of Virgin Galactic.
In addition, there was a surprise charity auction which raised a remarkable £210,000 benefitting the Branson School of Entrepreneurship in South Africa (see press release).
