Ranjit Boparan founded 2 Sisters Food Group in 1993 as a small supplier of frozen chicken and has built it into a leading provider of frozen, chilled and bakery products, selling to most of the big supermarkets. Last year, 2 Sisters bought Northern Foods for £342m, including the Fox’s biscuits and Goodfella’s pizza brands. It also bought a chilled food and bakery business from Premier Foods for £30m. The Birmingham company’s combined revenues – from 2 Sisters and three months’ trading from Northern Foods – were £1.4 billion in 2011.
