Ranjit Boparan, 46, founded 2 Sisters in 1993 as a small supplier of frozen chicken, and has built it into a leading maker of frozen, chilled and bakery products. It has made a series of acquisitions including, in 2011, Premier Foods’ chilled and bakery business, and Northern Foods, a £342m deal that brought in brands such as Fox’s biscuits and Goodfella’s pizza. This year, the company acquired 11 UK factories from the Dutch operator Vion, four of which process red meat, 2 Sisters’ first entry into this market.
