Ranjit Boparan founded 2 Sisters in 1993 and has built it into a leading supplier of chilled and frozen food as well as poultry and bakery products. The company has 35 manufacturing sites in the UK and Ireland, six in the Netherlands and one in Poland, and its customers include Tesco and British Airways. Last year, 2 Sisters bought Northern Foods for £342m, owners of the Fox’s biscuits and Goodfella’s pizza brands. It also bought a chilled food and bakery business from Premier Foods for £30m. International sales rose 116% a year from £64.5m in 2009 to £302.1m in 2011. After the acquisition of Northern Foods the group’s total sales exceed £2.1 billion.
