20:20 Mobile Group claims to be one of the largest distributors of mobile phones and their accessories in the world. It was formed in 2006 when the private-equity firm Doughty Hanson backed a £347m buyout from its former owner, the Caudwell Group. In 2007 it acquired Axcom, a Nordic handset distributor. Under chief executive Meinie Oldersma, sales reached £850m in 2008. managing director Neil Kirkby led a £594m public-to-private buyout in 2007 backed by 3i. Later that year the company acquired the Accord maintenance firm for £195m. Sales grew to £1,090m in 2008, including £189m from joint ventures.
