When Mori, the polling company, wanted a way of connecting its seven British and Irish offices more efficiently to predict voting trends in the last election, it turned to this telecoms company, signing a three-year contract. Backed by 150 business angels, who have invested a total of £8m, 8el was founded in 2000 by former colleagues Justin Hamilton-Martin, Phil O’Keeffe, John Rees and Martin Gray to provide customised voice and data communication services. The company has tripled its client base within three years to 100, and its sales have grown 105% a year from £953,000 in 2002 to £4m in 2004.
