Co-founder Hussein Lalani appeared on the BBC’s Watchdog programme earlier this year to defend the discount retailer’s prices and, in the three days that followed, reported a 22% sales increase. Founded in 2001, the firm now has more than 200 stores across Britain. Barclays Ventures invested a total of £3.7m and owns 25%. Nadir Lalani is chief executive.
