Tech Track 100

ACIS makes software that tells passengers at a bus stop when a bus will arrive. It claims to control 50% of the British market, selling to 42 local authorities and the bus manufacturer Wrightbus. The company underwent a £25m management buyout this spring led by chief executive Ian Buckley and backed by Inflexion Private Equity. Sales have risen 42% a year from £5.5m in 2002 to £11m in 2004, helped by the government’s drive to increase use of public transport.
