Serial entrepreneur Steven Lloyd, 52, established Addfield in 2008, and says that developing specialised machines for different industries has been key to growth. International contracts have ranged from supplying medical waste incinerators to NGOs including Unicef and Médecins Sans Frontières in Africa, to delivering a large cremator for an equine pet cremation firm in Sweden. Exports hit £4.4m last year.
