Students in Edinburgh will benefit from this company’s IT buying power, via a £2.3m contract to supply and install 5,500 Apple computers in the city’s schools. Glasgow-based Adventi, founded by Graham Bucknall, provides services such as network installation and maintenance, mostly to the public sector, and also resells hardware through its two Apple stores. An aggressive acquisition strategy, including the recent purchase of technology firm Integral Arm to enable expansion in the south, has pushed sales up 216% a year from £1.5m in 2004 to £14.7m in 2006. Backers include Archangel Informal Investments and the Scottish Co-Investment Fund, which jointly invested £1.2m.
