Fast Track 100

Caerphilly-based AerFin has spent more than £100m buying aircraft, engines and spares worldwide, which it recycles and sells or leases to the likes of Lufthansa and Philippine Airlines. The company was founded in 2010 by industry veteran Bob James, 55, and in 2015, it acquired Airline Services Components, a Gatwick-based components specialist. In 2018 it signed up the airlines BA Cityflyer and Pegas Fly to its “Beyond Pool” fixed-cost component support programme, which helped revenues reach £84.4m last year. More than 80% came from overseas customers in 60 countries. The US fund manager CarVal Investors sold its 80% stake to CataCap, a Danish investment firm, in September.
