From its headquarters in Abingdon in Oxfordshire, Allmakes supplies parts and accessories for Land Rovers. The company – which started in 1977 in a room no bigger than a Land Rover – now supplies repairers, parts shops, individuals and even charities such as Oxfam. Managing director Richard Howe puts its growth in international sales down to a gap in the market and the strong reputation of British brands overseas. The company’s international sales rose 38% a year from £11m in 2009 to £21m in 2011.
