Founded in 1993 as a software developer, Allserve grew on the back of the millennium bug, the introduction of the euro and the internet boom. However, it has sustained growth by entering the call-centre technology market and by developing database cleaning services. Sales have grown 159% a year from £8.1m in 2000 to £54.1m in 2002, partly through the acquisition of Total Services, an American company. Allserve’s subsidiary in India employs 1,000 call-centre operators and the parent company now has 150 staff at its Berkshire headquarters.
