The late Sir Allen McClay established this pharmaceuticals developer in 1968. Now in its 50th year, it has grown to provide research, development and commercialisation services to more than 600 international biopharma companies. Led by chairman and chief executive Alan Armstrong, 59, it is investing £50m this year to upgrade the cold-storage facilities at its global headquarters in Northern Ireland and its European campus in Ireland.
