Trading as Total Home Entertainment, Amp Enterprises distributes 140,000 DVDs, books, CDs and computer games to retailers such as J Sainsbury, Somerfield and Morrisons. The Newcastle-under- Lyme company was formed in 2000 when Denis Ashton and Warren Mason bought out the then loss- making business from John Menzies for £12m. The pair secured a £29m cash injection in 2003 when 3i took a 49% stake in the firm. It reported sales of £287.1m in 2004.
