Well known for its double glazing, patio doors and conservatories, Norwich-based Anglian claims to be the UK’s largest manufacturer of uPVC windows, and to have fitted them to over one million homes across the country. These activities generated sales of £267m in 2001, when the company employed 3,582 staff. Founded in 1966, Anglian was listed on the stock exchange from 1992 until 2001, when it was taken private by venture capitalists Alchemy Partners, who paid £54m to secure 90% of the company.
